Physical
Intelligence, Inc. is on the cutting edge of health care
and fitness. We are dedicated to providing patient-centered
care that leads to powerful results. Our commitment to provision
of the most effective therapy prompted the incorporation
of Pilates Method into
our practice.
I have created Physical
Intelligence, Inc. with a goal of providing the highest quality
of one-on-one physical fitness training and physical therapy.
Since
1989, we have offered physical therapy and physical conditioning
services to clients needing careful guidance through their
recovery following an injury, or for those simply coping
with pain. We provide an experienced, licensed staff to accommodate
each client and cater to their individual needs.
Developed
in the 1920's by the legendary physical trainer and founder
of the Pilates Studio®, Joseph H. Pilates,
the The Pilates Method (pronounced puh-LAH-teez) is an exercise
system focused on improving flexibility and strength for
the total body without building bulk.
The Pilates® Method
promotes physical harmony and balance for people of all ages
and physical conditions, while providing a refreshing and
energizing workout. Because conditioning sessions are done
one-to-one with a teacher or in closely supervised small
groups, each session is tailored to your specific needs.
The
Pilates® Method is not just an exercise -- it is
a series of controlled movements engaging your body and mind,
performed on a specifically designed exercise apparatus.
Regardless of your current level of fitness -- from sedentary
office worker to fitness enthusiast -- the Pilates® Method
can be your primary mode of body conditioning and
injury
prevention.
Recently discovered by physical therapists, chiropractors
and orthopedists, the
Pilates Method of body conditioning
has been integrated into rehabilitative exercise and physical
therapy programs designed to speed recovery of soft tissue
injuries. The method can also be used by pregnant women to
learn proper breathing and body alignment, improve concentration,
and recover body shape and tone after pregnancy. Various
pieces of apparatus are used in the Pilates Method. Joseph
H. Pilates designed more
than 500 specific exercises using
five major pieces of unique apparatus to develop the
body
uniformly.
In addition to general physical conditioning, Pilates
Method is extremely effective in rehabilitation of various
orthopedic injuries. Many local physicians refer their patients
to Physical Intelligence, Inc. We work with doctors and physical
therapists to monitor progress and determine how to best
meet their patient’s needs.
Our staff of licensed Physical
Therapists and Movement Specialists is trained in the traditional
methods of Joseph Pilates work and has varied experience
in dance, movement, yoga, and body therapies, so that we
can best understand how to fine tune Pilates fitness programming
for clients who want to build a better body. Thorough knowledge
of the body is key in discovering one's strengths and weaknesses.
Our
unique approach has earned us the trust and respect of our
clients and peers, allowing us to maintain an excellent reputation
in the medical and fitness communities. |
